End-of-Life Psychological Support

The end-of-life period can bring profound emotional experiences for both patients and their families. Fear, sadness, uncertainty, loss of independence, unfinished conversations, concerns about loved ones, and questions about meaning and purpose may become more prominent during this stage.

End-of-Life Psychological Support
50 Mins / Session
Online / Virtual Care

Psychological support provides a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental space where patients can express

their fears, emotions, wishes, concerns, and hopes openly. The focus is not on forcing difficult

conversations, but on supporting the individual at their own pace and according to what feels meaningful

to them. Therapy may help with emotional distress, fear of dying, relationship concerns, unresolved

feelings, communication with loved ones, and adjustment to changes in health and independence. It can

also support meaningful conversations between patients and family members and help families prepare

emotionally for the changes ahead.

For family members and caregivers, support may include managing anticipatory grief, emotional

exhaustion, helplessness, and the difficulty of witnessing a loved one's illness. The overall aim is to

provide compassionate psychological support while preserving dignity, connection, comfort, and quality

of life.
