Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is an evidence-based psychological intervention that addresses the interaction between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. Within psycho-oncology, CBT may be used to manage anxiety, depressive symptoms, excessive worry, treatment-related distress, sleep difficulties, and fear of cancer recurrence. Patients are supported in identifying unhelpful cognitive patterns and developing more balanced and adaptive responses. Behavioural strategies are incorporated to promote engagement in meaningful activities and improve psychological functioning.
